Just now, Western Digital has released firmware version 1.02.06 developed for its My Cloud Mirror personal storage, which includes several new changes that improve the device’s overall performance, stability, and usability.

Specifically speaking, the new update includes support for My Cloud mobile and desktop applications, iTunes server, Apple Time Machine, and Jumbo frames, allows multiple RAID volumes, and brings several other changes that you can view on the description page.

If you consider applying this release, get and expand the downloadable archive, log into the unit’s administration page, go to Settings → Firmware Update, and click the “Update from File” button.

Now browse and select the “My_Cloud_BZVM_1.02.06.bin” file from the newly created folder, click “Ok” at the update firmware pop-up, and wait for the installation to complete; after the update finishes, the device will reboot.

Even though this process seems harmless, bear in mind that interrupting the update in any way might seriously damage the unit’s firmware, which can cause the device to malfunction or even render it unusable.

In addition to that, it would be a good idea to use a UPS unit to perform this task so that no power disruption interferes with the upgrade and causes it to fail.

That being said, download WD My Cloud Mirror Personal Storage Firmware 1.02.06, take into account all above-mentioned aspects, apply the new firmware version, and enjoy your newly updated device.
