Western Digital isn't bound to let much time go by without some new HDD coming out and, sure enough, it released just this sort of products, only aimed at Apple Mac systems instead of PCs.

I-O Data isn't the only company that decided this was an opportune time for the release of new hard disk drive units.

Western Digital has made the news as well, through creating new additions to the My Passport series.

My Passport Studio and My Passport for Mac are the names that the company chose for them, the latter somewhat more self-explanatory than the former.

It so happens that both series are, in fact, aimed at Appel's mac systems, and they even have support for the time Machine backup NAS (network-attached storage) devices, usually employed for backup.

The My Passport for Mac have capacities of 500 GB, 750 GB and 1 TB, their prices being $99.99 (74 Euro), $119,99 (89 Euro) and $129.99 (96 Euro), respectively. They measure 21 x 82.3 x 110.8 mm.

Meanwhile, the My Passport Studio, measuring 22 (H) x 126 (D) x 84 (W) mm, have 500 GB, 750 GB and 1 TB capacities as well, though their prices are quite a bit higher.

This is because they have, in addition to the same USB 2.0 that the ones above us, dual FireWire 800, plus an anodized aluminum case.

For those that want all the numbers, the prices are, in the above order of capacities, $129.99 (96 Euro), $159.99 (118 Euro) and $179.99 (133 Euro).
