14 DAY TRIAL // Western Digital, one of the world's leading providers of storage solutions, has just announced the introduction of its new My Book Studio Edition II, a Mac-compatible dual-drive external storage system that can provide users with as much as 4TB of storage space. The new solution ups the ante in terms of storage enabling a combination of high-performance and power-saving features, in a compact package that can easily be integrated into any home desktop environment. According to the Lake Forest, California-based storage vendor, the new storage product is already available through select retailers and the company's own online store.

According to Western Digital, the new My Book Studio Edition II has been formatted for Mac computer systems, providing Apple enthusiasts with up to 4TB of external storage space. Additional features include four connection interfaces, including FireWire 400/800 eSATA and USB 2.0, automatic and continuous backup software and a capacity gauge, designed to enable quick info on how much space is available on the device. Connected in a RAID 0 setup, the drives inside the My Book Studio Edition II can easily be upgraded by the user, with quick access to the enclosure and its contents.
With the launch, Western Digital also announced the pricing and availability of the new My Book Studio Edition II, now available at select retailers and WD's online store for an MSRP of US$649.99.
