Westboro Baptist Church picks teen pop idol Justin Bieber as its next target

They’ve picked on Lady Gaga, Barack Obama, American soldiers and, most fervently, on gay men and women, but protesters from the Westboro Baptist Church have now a new target in the person of pop idol Justin Bieber. The WBC, led by Reverend Fred Phelps is trying to argue that, though we might not be aware of it, The Biebs and his millions of fans are the clearest sign that America – and humanity too – is doomed.

The WBC has a very unique way of using religion as a weapon and vehicle for intolerance and hatred. It’s made somewhat of a habit of picking a public figure, be they a politician or a pop star, and leading bona-fide campaigns against them meant to show that they’re the closest thing to Devil on earth. According to Phelps and the Church, Bieber is just that for being allowed a platform to speak out and using it instead to – go figure – sing and entertain audiences like the entertainer he is.

“There are no jobs, homes, money or hope, but you’ll pay big bucks to attend rock concerts by the thousands. [He] has a platform given to him by God to speak to this world; he has a duty to teach obedience by his actions and words. He refuses to do that because he knows his concert halls would be empty! So, he teaches you to sin and rebel against God’s commandments. [Earlier in Washington,] he got to pose with Anti-Christ Beast Obama. He and Obama are of one mind and they are leading this nation to hell! Justin will answer to God!” a post on the official WBC website reads.

As also noted above, The Biebs is not the Church’s first target, as we were also informing you earlier this year. Phelps’ daughter led (and continues to do so) a very active campaign against the singer, claiming she (Gaga) is seducing her fans to her wicked lifestyle, which is outside God’s commandments and also includes embracing the gay community. For quite a long time, the “Poker Face” hitmaker refused to take a stand in this but, hearing that the WBC was planning to sabotage one of her biggest concerts, she took to her Twitter to urge her fans not to give the fanatics any satisfaction.

“My request to all little monsters and public authority is to pay these hate criminals no mind. Do not interact with them, or try to fight. Do not respond to any of their provocation. Don’t waste your words, or feelings, no matter what you hear or see. You are more fortunate and blessed than they are, and in your heart just pray for them. Although I respect and do not judge anyone for their personal views on any politics or religion, this group in particular to me, is violent and dangerous. I wanted to make my fans aware of my views on how to approach, or rather not approach, these kinds of hate activists. Be inspired to ignore their ignorant message, and feel gratitude in your heart that you are not burdened or addicted to hate, as they are. X” Gaga wrote.
