West Virginia State Police are searching for a pair who robbed a local bank dressed up like a clown and a monkey on Friday, the Daily Mirror informs.

According to the police report, the suspects tried to hide their identities during the robbery by wearing distinctive masks. A male suspect was wearing a clown mask with bright orange hair and a gown with flowers on it, while the other suspect, believed to be a woman, was dressed up as a monkey.

Both were caught on surveillance camera robbing the Capon Bank in Baker, West Virginia, just after 11am on May 16. The person in the monkey disguise is believed to have had a gun and demanded money from the bank's employees.

By the time police officers arrived at the scene, the two burglars had fled the bank in a stolen blue Chevy Malibu, which was later found on fire after they had transferred into an unknown vehicle.

The investigation is still ongoing at this time and the state police has released the CCTV images of the two suspects asking the public to come forward if they have any information about this case.

The amount of money stolen by the masked burglars has not been disclosed by authorities.
