Wesley Snipes has recently told a Nigerian newspaper that he's still keen to star in a film version of the comic-book "Black Panther", according to Superhero Hype.
The Blade star has been previously linked to the movie that would tell about one of the first major non-caricatured black comic book characters, and the first major black superhero, a chap who's entitled to the use of a heart-shaped herb that grants the person who consumes it enhanced strength, agility, and perception.
The "Blade Trinity" director David Goyer was once linked to the Black Panther movie, for which he also wrote a screenplay at one time.
"I've always been attracted to the story because the protagonist is a strong African figure, a monarch who is very intelligent and powerful, who uses his gifts to protect his people from external forces. In it, Africans are it", Wesley said.
"And as for me doing research here in Nigeria, no: that's not what I'm here for. But now that you've mentioned it, it sounds like a great idea. I'd absolutely love to do 'Black Panther' in Nigeria", the actor added.
