Wendy Williams is branching out: the talk show host will be soon hitting Vegas with her own, very first standup live comedy number, which will see her take the stage with some of the most famous comediennes in the US. She spoke to ABC News about the gig, revealing some of the topics she’ll be joking about.

Viewers of The Wendy Show know that what sets Wendy apart from other talk show hosts is the fact that she will call a spade a spade no matter what. She’s honest, sometimes to a brutal extent, and she calls celebrities on their bluff and she doesn’t really mess around, no matter who feels offended about the things she has to say.

That’s just the Wendy from the show: the one her fans will get to see in Vegas will be slightly different, but just as honest. All her jokes are inspired from things that have happened to her, from her troubled childhood to all those rumors out there about how she was truly born a man.

In case you didn’t know, there’s a lot of talk online about how Wendy is actually a trans-woman. It’s ok, she “gets it” where that comes from, she tells ABC, as the video below will confirm.

“People do think I was born a man. That is absolutely not [true]. I get it. I've got a strong face, a strong body, I'm 5'11. I wear wigs,” she says.

“I get where that comes from, but in my opinion, there's no worse way to insult a woman than by saying she looks like a man, but once a woman gets over that, there is no stronger woman,” Wendy adds.

She promises she “will address that” in her comedy show, just like she’ll address all the bullying and fat-shaming she was subjected to when she was younger.

“I had a very tortured childhood. I was tortured, they fat shamed me... So, I want to talk about growing up. I want to answer the big question about the [breasts]. People know they are breast implants, but a lot of people, I read and see, ‘You've lost so much weight now, you need a breast reduction.’ I will answer you straight and direct, if you are in Vegas,” Wendy promises.

If you’re a fan of her TV show and you’d like to know more about Wendy’s personal life, check out the entire video: she also explains why she doesn’t like mixing with celebrities because she believes that would somehow prevent her from criticizing them like she does now, and so much more.
