A number of five domains owned by the Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research have been breached and defaced by the Pakistani hacker that calls himself Hitcher.

Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research was established in 1977 and it’s considered to be one of the top distance learning institutions.

The list of affected sites includes: - welingkaronline.org; - courses.welingkaronline.org; - parttime.welingkaronline.org; - feedback.welingkaronline.org;  - results.welingkaronline.org.

It’s uncertain at this time if Hitcher had a specific reason for targeting the Welingkar institute, but in a recent interview we’ve had with him he mentioned that he was “anti-Israel, anti-US, anti-India and anti-NATO policies.”

“I do not work for fame or for money and I always wish to unite all the hackers to raise their voices against lies. My mission is to free Palestine and Kashmir and I will not go down. Freedom is the goal. End the occupation,” he said at the time.

At press time, the site has been restored and all the files published by the hacker have been removed.
