14 DAY TRIAL // For the recent couple of months, since Softpedia's new “face” was revealed to the world, you've probably been wondering just what that teasing “Coming Soon” label applied on the Gadgets tab was hiding. Well, as of today, you'll be able to see exactly what we've been cooking up for... well, quite a long time now, since we're opening our latest section, aimed at all those who want to find out more about the wonderful world of all the devices and products we call “gadgets.”
First of all, it's rather difficult to provide a universal definition for the term “gadget,” as pretty much everyone out there has a different opinion on the subject. And given the fact that there are so many different products that could be labeled as “gadgets,” we decided to gather them all in one place. This is how our very comprehensive Gadgets Collection was born, a place where you'll be able to find just about everything you might think of, from HDTVs to GPS navigators and from the world's most expensive watches to high-end accessories for your home (just to name a few items). Plus, you can even rate your favorites and explain your choice, thus making them more popular with the entire world.
We won't reveal too much for now, though; instead, we'll let you browse through our numerous categories, searching for those products that you like most. However, we will mention the fact that, should you encounter any difficulty with the particular terms used within the description of a certain gadget, you can always check our Glossary, where we've tried to provide a comprehensive definition for the respective term.
Helping others is another important aspect for us, so we've decided to create not one, but two separate sections dedicated to this purpose. One is targeted at people with less experience in technology (“Noob's Guide”), while the other will provide useful tips for those who are not afraid to get “close and personal” with their technology (“Tips and Tricks”).
However, there's a lot more to be done on our Gadgets section than simply find out more information regarding a certain product. For example, you'll be able to find out the latest news related to the hottest products to arrive on the market, but also the most interesting rumors regarding upcoming launches. Plus, if you want to find out more about how things evolved over time and just how a certain device changed over the years to the form we know today, you can always check out our “History Of” section.
It's a well-known fact that men and women have very different opinions on gadgets. For this reason, we thought it would be interesting to see just what a man and a woman would have to say regarding the exact same product, and this is how our “He Says/She Says” section was born. And since imagination and dreaming should also play an important part in our lives, there's always that “Gadget Tales” section for you to visit... and start dreaming.
