Great new games and new consoles are going to appear in the next 12 months

Next generation consoles are coming in 2013
It's the beginning of the new year and, as always, we here at the Games section of Softpedia have begun our traditional Incoming Games series of articles, in which we highlight some of the most impressive titles that will (or at least should) appear this year.

It's the beginning of the new year and, as always, we here at the Games section of Softpedia have begun our traditional Incoming Games series of articles, in which we highlight some of the most impressive titles that will (or at least should) appear this year.

We already started with games that have received concrete release dates or at least launch periods and we'll soon start talking about franchises that will certainly receive new iterations (like Call of Duty or Assassin's Creed) as well as titles that only need a timeframe in which they can appear (Saints Row 4).

Besides talking about games, the Incoming series will also cover exciting developments in the gaming industry as a whole. This means that we'll thoroughly discuss rumored devices like the next-generation consoles, in the form of the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox 720.

Already more and more reports are surfacing on the web and the enigmatic countdown hosted by Xbox Live community manager Larry Hryb only serves to add fuel to the rumor fire of next-generation devices. It's going to be interesting to see whether Sony will also begin its teasing campaign or if it will opt to surprise everyone at E3 2013.

Considering that all recent announcements from Sony have more or less been leaked ahead of time, ranging from the PlayStation Vita to the recent Super Slim redesign of the PlayStation 3, the months leading up to E3 2013's start in June are going to be quite interesting.

With great new games and supposedly new consoles, 2013 is going to be quite an interesting year.

I also hope that, like with 2012, we'll get a few surprises along the way, especially when it comes to either indie games, like what happened with FTL or The Walking Dead, or with Kickstarter projects, like the Double Fine Adventure.

What are you looking forward to in 2013? Do you want a certain game to appear faster or do you want Microsoft or Sony to announce a certain feature for their new consoles?
