The two games might be from different genres but comparisons will be made

This week was marked by the confirmation of a major upcoming game, Call of Duty: Ghosts, and the appearance of fresh details about another great release, Grand Theft Auto V.

Both games are set to sell millions upon millions of copies when they'll appear this fall and both will certainly drive off other games from coming out in their months of November and September, respectively.

While the two titles aren't even in the same genre, as one is an open world third-person action experience and the other is a more focused first-person shooter, you can be sure that lots of gamers will compare them to see which is the best.

This is easier said than done, largely because their major genre differences make it hard to find a common ground on which to compare their different features.

From the story, to the core gameplay, the world, the non-playable characters, or even the multiplayer mode, both GTA 5 and Call of Duty: Ghosts are wildly different beasts.

While Grand Theft Auto V places an emphasis on its single-player campaign that has not one but three different characters and takes place in the open world of Los Santos, Ghosts is more about multiplayer, although it also promises a new type of story focused on the masked warriors who keep the world safe from terrorists and other villains.

The multiplayer modes in the two games might prompt the biggest comparisons and, although we haven't heard anything about the online experiences of both titles, you can bet that traditional activities like Team Deathmatch will be present.

In the end, both Grand Theft Auto 5 and Call of Duty: Ghosts are set to deliver great experiences for their respective genres and for quite a lot of gamers. Throw in the fact that one comes out on September 17 and the other appears on November 5, and fans of both franchises have more than enough time to save up money for both releases.
