Both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One next-gen consoles are set to make their debut this November and, while both Sony and Microsoft are working hard to hype up their two devices, not to mention the games that will appear for them, Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto 5 is still one of the most important and popular subjects here at Softpedia.

Grand Theft Auto IV really showed back in 2008 the power of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, delivering the huge open world of Liberty City as well as the realistic adventures of Niko Bellic.

With Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar is taking things in a more tongue-in-cheek direction, just like previous games in the series from the PS2 era, and features not one but three protagonists, in the form of Michael, Franklin, and Trevor.

Based on the huge amount of screenshots, videos, and details learned up until now, the game is looking set to amaze lots of players from around the world and, judging by the amount of hype we've seen so far, it will certainly break sales records.

Lots of analysts are talking about the launches of the two next-gen consoles, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but also of their different games, from exclusives like Forza Motorsport 5 or Driveclub, to third-party experiences like Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag.

Until November, however, when all these things will be released, September 17 is right around the corner and brings with it GTA 5's launch on the PS3 and Xbox 360.

While many gamers are certainly debating whether or not to invest in one or both of the new consoles, it's certain that many are going to spend the $60/€60 on GTA V, and then worry about the 399 USD/EUR PS4 or the 499 USD/EUR Xbox One.
