Three weeks from now, the E3 2013 event will open its doors in Los Angeles and it's expected that most major gaming companies will flock to the City of Angels in order to showcase their latest products.

They will do so either in big conferences, like Microsoft or Sony, or in smaller gatherings, like Nintendo.

In a year of console transition like 2013, the most important role E3 2013 will play is that it's going to allow not just the media, but also some lucky consumers to have hands-on experiences with the all the new projects in the industry, including many upcoming games.

Most importantly, however, is that people will get a chance to go hands-on with the next-generation consoles, in the form of Sony's PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's Xbox 720 (aka Durango, Fusion, Infinity, or whatever its name might be).

In the case of the PS4, Sony will finally present the new console to the world in a proper way, hopefully showing off its actual design and presenting some final features for the device.

In the case of the next Xbox, Microsoft is expected to go into even further detail about the next console and its games, in order to top its own May 21 event that will be held at its Redmond, Washington headquarters.

Besides admiring the consoles, fans will also get to play on the actual devices games that will be released for them.

Previews of some PlayStation 4 games have already appeared, like with Infamous: Second Son, but you can bet that plenty of more specific details will share at the large event.

Like with previous Electronic Entertainment Expos, Softpedia will be on the scene in order to provide all sorts of hands-on experiences and thoughts from the huge event, so, between June 11 and June 13, keep on checking our site in order to read just how the new consoles and games handle.
