Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Cyber Fighters seem determined not to give up on their objective of getting the Innocence of Muslims movie removed from the Internet, so they keep launching distributed denial-of-service (DDOS) attacks against the websites of US financial institutions.

According to their latest statement, last week they disrupted the websites of JP Morgan Chase, BB&T, PNC, UnionBank, Capital One and “a few others.”

This week, based on reports from SiteDown.co and the Hilf-ol-Fozoul blog, which has been closely monitoring the hackers’ activities, the list of victims includes BB&T, US Bank, Bank of America, PNC, Citibank, Chase, and Fifth Third Bank.

It’s uncertain if the downtimes have anything to do with the DDOS attacks, but a small number of Capital One and Wells Fargo customers have also reported being unable to access the sites.

It’s worth mentioning that the attacks are not over for this week. On Thursday, during work hours, it’s likely that other banks will be targeted.
