The groomsmen and bridesmaids ended up in waist- or chest-deep water

A Minessota couple will surely never forget their wedding day as they exchanged vows in soaked clothes after they plunged into a lake when posing for a photo.

Newlyweds Dan and Jackie Anderson, from Crosslake, were trying to take a group photo with their groomsmen and bridesmaids on a shaky wooden pier when the unfortunate incident happened last weekend. Just as they were lining up for a picture, the jetty collapsed under their combined weight, turning their big day into a soggy experience.

No less than 22 people were on the dock when the weather-beaten wood buckled, and almost all of them plunged into the water below. A couple of bridesmaids reacted quickly enough to get off the dock in time, but the rest ended up in waist- or chest-deep water.

However, the lake plunge failed to dampen their spirits, and they made it up the aisle just 10 minutes late. Although the bride, groom and their groomsmen and bridesmaids were still drying off when the guests started to arrive for the wedding, the ceremony continued without further incident.

Videographer Megan Fritze, who was hired by the couple to shoot the ceremony, caught the prenuptial plunge on camera, and said that although getting drenched was not on the couple's plan for their big day, the bride managed to maintain her sense of humor.

“[She] looked up with the biggest smile in the world. She was literally laughing out loud and just smiling. The first thing she said was, ‘Did you record that? Please tell me you got that on camera!’ I thought, '’This is a really cool bride,’” he said, as cited by ABC News.

“An hour later, you couldn't even tell that anyone had gotten wet,” Fritze added. “The bride was absolutely stunning — in and out of the water.”

As you can see in the video below, it all happened very quickly. The wedding goers lined up on the pier for the photo shoot and suddenly they felt the wooden platform moving under their feet. However, they remained in high spirits despite their ruined outfits.

It seems that old docks and bridges tend to cause people troubles during the most important events of their lives. In April, we also reported about an incident in which a group of Nebraska high school students plunged into a pond, while trying to pose for a group photo on a shaky bridge, ruining their prom dresses and rented tuxedos.
