Downright hilarious wedding invitation is now making rounds on the Internet

Pretty much everybody knows that, when attending a wedding, it's a good idea not to show up empty-handed. Flowers will do, but, let's face it, it's presents that work wonders.

Still, few would ever expect to be explicitly asked to bring gifts when being invited to a wedding. The bad news is that this can happen, and the invitation accompanying this article more than proves it.

“Because you have shared in our lives by your friendship and love, we […] and […], together with our parents, request the honor of your presents on Saturday, the fourteenth of June, two thousand fourteen, at 5 o'clock in the evening […].”

In case you missed it, this wedding invite says “honor of your presents” when it fact it should read “honor of your presence.”

According to Huffington Post, it's unclear who the person responsible for this blunder might be. However, pretty much everybody agrees that this was one hilarious mistake.

In hindsight, perhaps it would have been a good idea for the couple who printed and sent these wedding invitations to take the time to do some proofreading before actually mailing them.

I don't know about you, but I for one have to admit that, if presented with one such invitation, I would most definitely show up at the wedding carrying precisely zero gifts.
