Four websites belonging to the Philippine National Police Regional Offices have been hacked and defaced by Filipino hackers.

The impacted domains belong to the Philippine National Police Regional Office 1 (pnppro1.com, ilocossurpnp.com and pnplaunion.com) and the Philippine National Police Regional Office 3 (www.pro3.pnp.gov.ph). According to Pinoy Hack News, the websites have been hacked by members of Phantom Hackers PH and Pinoy Vendeta.

On each of these sites, the hacktivits posted various messages.

“You have done a big mistake that needs to be corrected, for detaining the demonstrators / supporters questioning and accusing them as the persons behind the hacking incident of almost 40 Philippine websites and put them under investigation,” the hackers said in a message addressed to Colonel Eleazar Matta.

“You are such a disgrace in that line of service and specially you are a Police which has to know more and better about laws. You don’t deserve that rans and on what you have. Don’t be so desperate on hunting and shutting down Anonymous Philippines by picking anyone and accusing them of anything on which they are not,” they added.

At the time of writing, pro3.pnp.gov.ph redirects visitors to Google.com. pnplaunion.com and ilocossurpnp.com are still defaced, but pnppro1.com has been restored.

It’s worth mentioning that this isn’t the first time when Phantom Hackers PH target these particular domains. The Philippine National Police Regional Office 1 sites were also defaced back on June 22.

In preparation for the November 5 protests that took place all over the world, Anonymous hackers have targeted around 40 Philippines government websites.

Some of them have been defaced while others have been disrupted with distributed denial-of-service (DDOS) attacks. Authorities have said that they plan on tracking down those responsible for the cyberattacks.
