A website was created with the purpose to free Katie Holmes from Tom Cruise. Creator Sheila Cameron said she came with the idea after she saw Cruise's infamous appearance on the Oprah Winfrey show, where he got down on his knees and repeatedly jumped up on the couch , saying that his love for Holmes was "beyond cool." "I can't be cool. I can't be laid-back."
Cameron said, "I did it mostly for fun and to send out to a few friends. I thought maybe I'd sell a couple of shirts and have a laugh". You can buy T-shirts, hats, stickers and mugs emblazoned with the words "Free Katie". Cameron said there were demands from "all over the world, including Japan, Australia and the United Kingdom".
The site proclaims itself dedicated to "the movement to liberate Katie, a young, gifted actress held captive by forces we may never understand. Even one summer of captivity is too long for one so bright!"
