Malaysian hackers of KamiSecTeam are behind the attack

The official website of the Northeast Region Civil Air Patrol (ner.cap.gov) has been hacked and defaced by a Malaysian group called KamiSecTeam.

The Civil Air Patrol is a non-profit organization that represents the official auxiliary of the United States Air Force.

The hackers haven’t defaced the home page of the Northeast Region Civil Air Patrol. Instead, they’ve added their defacement page to ner.cap.gov/se/images/485180dgd.jpg, HackRead informs.

At the time of writing, the defacement page has been removed by the website’s administrators. A mirror of the defacement is available on zone-h.org.

Judging by its zone-h account, the KamiSecTeam is responsible for hacking over 500 websites from all over the world. However, most of the targets of the Malaysian group appear to be random commercial sites. Their hacks don’t seem politically motivated.
