Anonymous hackers are suspected of being behind the attack

The official website of the Philippines’ Disaster Information for Nationwide Awareness (DINA) Project (ocd.ndrrmc.gov.ph/index.php/project-dina) has been hacked. The attackers configured the website so that its visitors would be redirected to an adult site.

PhilSTAR reported that the website was hacked just as the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) was preparing to launch the DINA Project on Wednesday. Only users who visited the website from their mobile devices were redirected to an adult site.

NDRRMC representatives urged citizens to visit the website from their desktop computers or laptops until they fixed the problem.

Some say Anonymous hackers might be behind the attack, particularly since they’ve breached and disrupted numerous government websites over the past days. However, I haven’t seen any hacktivists taking credit for the hack.

Project DINA is an Internet-campaign that aims at raising awareness of disaster preparedness. The people of the Philippines can use the system to learn about what they must do before, during and after earthquakes, tropical cyclones, floods, landslides, fires, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions.
