The website has been taken down by its administrators

A hacker using the online moniker Viru$ Noir has breached and defaced the official website of the Mongolian National Police (police.gov.mn). The attack is part of OpMyanmar (or at least the attacker appears to be involved in the hacktivist campaign).

According to HackRead, it’s uncertain if the hacker has gained access to sensitive information stored in the website’s databases, but judging by the message left by Viru$ Noir on the defaced page, he simply wanted to demonstrate that the site was vulnerable.

On the other hand, the hacker doesn’t seem to be too fond of law enforcement.

“[Expletive] the police,” the hacker wrote. “Don’t break your system just demonstrate your problems audited by Virus Noir (sic).”

At the time of writing, the defacement page was taken down, but the website was still inaccessible. Visitors are greeted with an “under maintenance” message and redirected to the Mongolian National Police’s Facebook page.
