The Kashmir region conflict at the root of the incident

A Pakistani hacker has defaced the official website of senior leader of the Indian Bharatiya Janata Party, Lal Krishna Advani.

The hacker, operating under the name Muhammad Bilal, is allegedly a member of Team Pak Cyber Experts, changed the looks of the online location and left messages for the Indian army and government.

The text is meant to discourage military Indian intervention in Pakistan and it is also directed at the Indian government, relating to the sensitive issue of the Kashmir region.

It appears that the hacker also used abusive language towards the Indian prime minister Narendra Modi and Army chief Dalbir Singh Suhag.

He also informed that a change of the server hosting the website would be a useless form of protection against future hacking incidents.

The hacker quotes from the Indian penal code, saying that the territory of India does not include the State of Jammu and Kashmir.

“This institutionalized impunity with which the killings of civilians by military and police forces in Jammu and Kashmir continues should be a source of shame for India which propagates to be a democracy,” Bilal wrote on the defaced site.

An image of the Pakistan national flag covering the territory of India has also been posted. At the time of writing the original content on the page has not been restored.

Team Pak Cyber Experts is a hacker outfit carrying out various types of cyber-attacks against Indian websites, leveraging different vulnerabilities.
