The Brazilians Hackers Team has taken credit for the attack

Anonymous-affiliated hackers of the Brazilians Hackers Team have breached and defaced the official website of the Petru Voda monastery (petruvoda.ro), a well-known convent in Romania.

The attack took place sometime on Tuesday, but at the time of writing, the website still displayed the defacement page added by the hackers.

They haven’t named the reasons for which they’ve targeted this particular website. It’s likely that Petru Voda is a random target.

This is not the first time when the monastery’s website is hacked. The zone-h.org defacement archive shows that it was hacked back in 2010. It was also defaced in May 2013.

After the recent attack, Petru Voda representatives have posted a message on the monastery’s website asking hackers, if they are Romanians, to try their “skills” on other websites since they have nothing to gain from the “battle” against monasteries.
