A few days ago, one celebrity website, Celebrity Jihad, came to international media attention after Taylor Swift's attorneys fired off a scathing cease and desist letter demanding the removal of a photo purporting to be of her.CJ didn't comply and even said it would only do so if Swift converted to Islam. Just recently, the account has been
suspended.
While an account can be suspended for a variety of
reasons, the fact that it happened shortly after CJ practically defied Swift's legal team surely can't be a coincidence, voices online are saying.
Thus, in the constant battle between celebrities and rags, it's 1 to 0 for the stars.
As we also
informed you a few days ago, the photo claiming to be of Swift had been online for 2 months before the singer's attorneys decided to do something about it.
It showed a girl who looked like Taylor, lying on a bed and wearing nothing but panties. The site clearly stated that the girl in the picture was the famous singer.
For spreading “false news” about Swift and for using her likeness to promote falsities and thus soil her squeaky clean image, Taylor's attorneys demanded the immediate removal of the pic.
CJ said it wouldn't take it down and take that chance in court. Shortly after,
IBTimes reports, it issued a “statement” to say it only remove the photo if Taylor converted to Islam, in what was the final act of defiance.
“Unlike the heathen savages in America, us Muslims are a loving and peaceful people. With that in mind we here at Celeb Jihad have decided to be the bigger man, and compromise with Taylor Swift in regards to our topless picture article that she is so upset about,” editor Durka Durka wrote.
“We will remove the article if Taylor Swift simply agrees to convert to Islam. To convert to Islam, Taylor Swift must publicly renounce her Jew God Jesus, and accept Allah as her lord and master. She must then sacrifice a goat and devour its entrails. Pretty standard stuff really,” Durka added.
That clearly never happened.
