The Superannuation Twitter feed has revealed that four new websites have been registered and traced back to publisher Electronic Arts suggesting that the long running SSX franchise might get at least one new game announced in the near future.

The most interesting websites are named SSXFirstDescent.com and SSXDeadlyDescent.com.

They are joined on the Superannuation list by DeadlyDescent.com and DeadlyDescents.com, with all of them at the moment leading to entirely white pages.

Given the fact that sources like Superannuation and fan sites are always on the lookout for websites that could point to new video game announces it's weird for Electronic Arts not to prepare actual pages and make an announcement before the websites go live.

An announcement could be made at some point near the beginning of 2011 or at one of the game shows that lead into the summer.

Representatives from Electronic Arts have refused to confirm or deny whether the websites are linked to a new SSX video game and have restated the company policy of not commenting on rumors and speculation.

SSX has a long history in gaming, with titles appearing on the Game Boy Advance, the Game Cube, the PlayStation Portable, the first Xbox from Microsoft and the PlayStation 2 from Sony.

The last game to be released was on the Nintendo Wii in 2007, under the name SSX Blur.

The game was well received but most reviewers complained about the fact that the Wii motion based control scheme made the experience to hard.

Sony and Microsoft recently released PlayStation Move and Kinect, two new and more accurate motion tracking systems, and Electronic Arts might be thinking about recreating SSX in order to take advantage of the new capabilities they are offering.

Since SSX has exited the snowboarding simulation scene Ubisoft has managed to gain ground with its Shaun White based video games.
