Websense has launched TRITON RiskVision, a monitoring solution that’s designed to help organizations in discovering advanced persistent threats (APTs) by leveraging the company’s multi-layer sandboxing, data theft detection and real-time global analysis technologies.

“Today's advanced threats are often invisible to traditional web security solutions and simple threat monitoring,” noted Russ Dietz, Websense CTO.

“Organizations need rapid intelligence to outmaneuver cybercriminals. TRITON RiskVision outperforms other technologies by providing immediate visibility into the cyber threat landscape and actionable data to facilitate swift network security reinforcement,” Dietz added.

TRITON RiskVision is ideal for detecting data theft concealed through proprietary and custom encryption.

The solution provides administrators quick access to risk assessment reports, threat dashboards and forensic details that allow them to gain insight into the company’s security posture. In case suspicious activities are identified, email alerts are sent to administrators.

TRITON RiskVision incorporates Websense’s Advanced Classification Engine (ACE), which provides real-time threat analysis of web traffic; ThreatSeeker Intelligence Cloud, that provides threat awareness and defense analytics to ACE; TRITON ThreatScope, which provides multi-layered sanboxing; and data loss prevention systems.

Basically, data loss/theft, file sandboxing, real-time APT defenses, and global security intelligence are all combined into a single appliance.

“Websense TRITON RiskVision boosts the caliber of threat monitoring technology,” explained Charles Kolodgy, research vice president for IDC.

“Uniquely positioned within the market, it combines Websense's advanced threat protection intelligence with data loss detection and sandboxing. The demand for specialized threat analysis and protection will increase as more companies determine they require additional detection capabilities.”

Websense customers can also use the company’s CyberSecurity Intelligence (CSI) service, which provides access to an online sandbox environment, research and expert guidance from the company’s Security Labs. In addition, CSI users can test for potential malware infection by utilizing ThreatScope.
