IT security solutions provider Websense has launched TRITON 7.8. The latest version of the integrated security solution comes with a number of enhancements, including advanced threat protection, malware isolation, new platform support and end-user phishing education.

“Websense TRITON is the most advanced integrated security solution on the market. No other solution offers the broadest range of threat protection, across the entire advanced threat kill chain, in a completely integrated system,” stated John McCormack, Websense CEO.

“Organizations are vulnerable if they rely on security solutions that only address part of the problem. TRITON provides comprehensive security that stops attacks other solutions miss. Today's enhancements are yet another important step forward for our customers in enhancing their security defenses.”

In Websense TRITON 7.8, the ThreatScope web and email sandboxing system uses the company’s Advanced Classification Engine (ACE) to intercept files for forensic reporting and behavioral sandboxing. Files can also be uploaded manually to the sandbox by users.

As far as data loss protection enhancements are concerned, the latest version of TRITON is designed to analyze the type of data flowing in and out of an organization. If a piece of malware attempts to exfiltrate data, the solution isolates the threat.

Phishing attacks are often launched by cybercriminals because they’re well aware of the fact that employees are the weakest link in cyber security. That is why Websense has integrated a phishing education system into its product.

TRITON identifies phishing messages, rewrites the malicious links, and allows them to reach the intended recipient. If employees click on the link, they’re taken to a customizable block page.

When it comes to new platform support, the company provides new appliances that can be deployed on-premise, in the cloud, or in hybrid environments.

The appliances are Virtual Email Security, which maximizes hardware resources, increases performance, and reduces appliance footprint; and i500, a cloud appliance that’s designed to increase traffic speed and control the traffic that’s sent to the cloud.
