The user-generated content attracts customers

YouTube is more than a simple online video sharing service because it tends to become a real phenomenon as it continues to influence the Internet world. Today, Web User reported that PC World, one of the most known UK retailers, recorded an important boost in their webcam sales in the last year. It seems that the main reason for the 50 percent raise in the PC World sales was caused especially by the video service recently acquired by Google for $1.6 billion.

"Webcams have been on sale in our stores for several years and suddenly in the last twelve months, unit sales have rocketed 48 per cent," said Brian Magratch, commercial director at PC World. There's no question that this is being fuelled by the YouTube phenomenon. Most have more technology available to them than a state-of-the-art broadcaster would have had as recently as a decade ago," said Brian Magratch, commercial director at PC World, according to the same publication.

The company's representative sustained the YouTube influenced their sales because more and more users are interested in buying webcams, record movies and upload clips on the Google video service. As you surely know, a recent study conducted by YouTube revealed that most of the Google product's visitors are attracted by the homemade videos posted by ordinary users. Because the user-generated clips are very important for both members and the company, YouTube recently organized 2006 Awards, a special event meant to honor the best clips uploaded by the users.

It is more and more obvious that YouTube tends to become an important part of our lives. Earlier this day, I wrote an article about a woman fighting against leukemia, and who decided to post a clip on the video service to find a marrow donor. She managed to find one in Denmark, so a Google product saved her life.
