WebKitGTK+, a version of the WebKit open source web engine that uses GTK+ as its user-facing frontend, is now at build 2.2.4.

WebKitGTK+ is out and includes both the WebKit1 and WebKit2 APIs by default. This is just another maintenance release incorporating a number of changes and improvements.

According to the developers, the MemoryCache is now disabled when the DOCUMENT_VIEWER cache model has been set, Web Audio is now enabled by default in configure, and missing mappings from ARIA roles have been added to ATK roles.

Also, several crashes that occurred when printing via JavaScript have been fixed, an X11 error when the backing store surface is destroyed has been corrected, and the build in FreeBSD has been fixed.

Check out the official announcement for a complete list of changes, updates, and new features. Users who intend to compile WebKitGTK+ have to keep in mind that it has a lot of dependencies.
