35-year-old Sean Le Vegan is nothing if not committed to making this world a better place by convincing people to adopt rather than buy canine companions.

The web developer is now getting ready to live inside a cage at an animal shelter for 35 days in a row.

He feels that people would be more willing to welcome dogs living in such shelters in their lives if they had the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the sufferings and hardships that stray dogs must endure.

“It’s going to be really tough, but I didn’t want to dress up in a pickle suit or run 26 miles or any of the usual things. I want to really show people what stray dogs go through, and experience it for myself,” Sean told the press, as cited by Oddity Central.

“The toilet will obviously be an issue so I’ve cut caffeine, salt and sugar out of my diet to sustain my water levels. I really want to do this properly,” the web developer further detailed on this project.

Besides raising awareness of the harsh living conditions that homeless dogs are more often than not faced with, the animal rights activist hopes to raise some money for canines that are in dire need of help.

Thus, Sean Le Vegan says that he will broadcast his entire experience on the Internet, and that those who wish to see him living inside a dog's cage at the Manchester and Cheshire Dogs' Home in England need only pay $7.50 (€5.73) for a subscription.

Sean's cage living experiment is set to debut this coming October 5. During his first 4 days inside a dog's enclosure, Sean will not eat anything. The only things he'll be given will be water and a blanket.

Once this period of fasting ends, the 35-year-old animal lover will get the chance to feast on vegetarian dog food. This is the only food he'll get until the experiment comes to an end.

During his stay at the animal shelter, Sean will only enjoy one hour of freedom per day.
