Weather.app Fix Arrives in Cydia

Jay Freeman (Saurik), the creator of Cydia, has pushed out a fix for the jailbreak bug affecting Weather.app installations on iPhones. The package includes a patch that prevents Weather.app from crashing.

Confirmed by evad3rs team member David Wang (@planetbeing) on Twitter, the Weather app fix is a free download available to users who have jailbroken their devices using evasi0n.

“Fixes for the long reboot issue and Weather app issue are now available on Cydia with an update to the untether and uikittools,” Wand wrote.

The UIKit Tools update is available under “Changes” within Cydia. Users who can’t seem to find the package on their jailbroken device are advised to refresh the Changes section.

Evasi0n works with all iPhones, iPads, and iPod touch devices running iOS 6.0 through iOS 6.1. The evad3rs are yet to confirm whether their jailbreak tool supports the newly released iOS 6.1.1 beta from Apple.
