Another limit in kitchen gadgetry has been reached and we can now introduce to you the Scan Toaster from Electrolux, a piece of high-tech bread-toasting equipment that could forever change the way you used to experience your breakfast. The Scan Toaster is a kitchen appliance with a very modern approach: it uses a computer in order to print different graphics on your slices of bread; we're not decided yet whether adding the need of a computer to the rather simple act of toasting a piece of bread is something cool or not, but the visual results are one cool sight, by all means.

The gadget has been created by Electrolux and is based on designer Sung Bae Chang’s idea, after winning a design contest.

This 2.0 toaster is easy to connect to your computer using a USB cable and it can download the desired image and have it burned on the bread slice. Pretty much anything can be "printed," from weather reports to pictures and portraits, and even news. Quite an interesting idea to eat the news column as you finish reading a new paragraph... and of course, assuming you have nothing spread on your bread.

The technology involves some hot wires to which individual burning modules have been attached. As the modules can be tilted in a 30-degree angle, the internal software manages to re-create the downloaded picture and make it into some giant pixels; of course, you shouldn't expect too much graphic quality from the Electrolux Scan Toaster, as we're still talking about small resolutions.

There is no word so far regarding a clear future for the Electrolux Scan Toaster and seeing it in our kitchens looks more like a dream. We wonder what's next: musical Bluetooth pancakes?

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
