Android Wear devices aren't out yet, but a lofty ecosystem is already being built around them. So far we have seen Android Wear get its own dedicated browser, for those who feel like surfing from their wrist, as well as dedicated games and more.

However, a new application takes things even further by allowing you to control the camera inside your phone or tablet from your Android Wear smartwatch.

The app has been developed by one of the members of the xda forum and is called Wear Camera Remote. Installing the soft will allow you to see through your smartphone or tablet’s lens directly on your wrist.

To take a snapshot, all you’ll have to do is firmly tap on your device and a 5 second self-timer will pop up. I should mention that Wear Camera Remote is open source, so you can tinker with its code if you like and try to make it even better.

The developer warns us that the app is quite raw, so you might be encountering a few bugs here and there, but if that doesn't bother you, you can help test the new soft.

If you would like to try out the app, you can head on over to the Google Play store and download it for there.
