Galaxy Note III, the next Android-based smartphone in Samsung’s popular Galaxy Note series, is expected to become official earlier than September, mainly due to weak sales of Galaxy S4, rumor has it.

The smartphone was previously said to have been set for launch in September at the IFA show in Berlin, the same as the first two handsets in the Galaxy Note family, but it seems that Samsung might have decided to launch it earlier than that.

A recent report from Etnews suggests that Samsung would be set to make the smartphone official in July or August, which would explain why production of Galaxy S4 was cut down, as Techkiddy notes.

No official confirmation on the matter has been provided as of now, and we’ll take the rumor with a grain of salt, though we’ll keep an eye out for more info on the matter.
