You probably were not completely excited to hear that a cheerleading championship game is going to hit the Nintendo Wiis, but let's face it: it's a game you could definitely try and maybe even enjoy for a few hours. Actually, Namco Bandai, the developer, is so sure that the title is going to be a success that it has signed a
distribution agreement with 505 Games to bring We Cheer to Europe in the first quarter of 2009. Happy now?
If you were wondering, the game allows you to become a virtual cheerleader - jump, shout and shake it just like the real girls do, without staying hungry for weeks or dating football superstars. The
Nintendo Wii version is more fun than that: it allows full control with the Wiimote, which turns into virtual pom-poms that you get to handle, while trying to perform a variety of spins, kicks and twists, and making sure you're sticking to the overall choreography. And that is certainly not an easy thing to do.
We Cheer also gives you the chance to dance to some of the hottest tracks of the moment (and the past), such as Hilary Duff, KC & The Sunshine Band, Paramore or Boys Like Girls. OK, so maybe these are not really the hottest, but
Namco promises you will truly enjoy them!
Also, if you are not just a guy testing things out and you wish to take your cheering to the next level, We Cheer comes with a special Workout Mode that helps you burn lots of calories while cheering and dancing. There is also a specially chosen trainer to encourage you throughout your daily workout sessions, so we can say that, up to a point, Namco's game is a younger brother of the Wii Fit. Except that it does not come with a balance board.
So if you live in Europe and you're planning to give this title a try, you will be able to do so in the first quarter of 2009, thanks to 505 Games.
