Who is the number one female rock star that people love to trash? No, it doesn't matter who you think it is because it's not her! It's none other than Courtney Love and, leaving all mean thoughts aside, she almost deserved being trashed in the media... almost, I said.
You see, Courtney did everything that usually garners bad press: she flashed, she drank, she did drugs, she slept with men no older than 20, she fell and embarrassed herself at live events, she picked on others and, above all, she had that much plastic surgery as to make her a favorite target.
Although we are not the ones to pass judgment (that's why I said before 'almost'), when confronted with a history of scandal, substance abuse, outrageous words and behavior, we are forced to admit that one thing Courtney never quite managed to be is that of being common. Even more, at one time, she actually seemed to invite controversy in, by going out at social events while her face and body were still blotched and swollen from plastic surgery, posting messages on her website that could have easily been written by an illiterate child and permanently shooting her mouth off.
Going back to present day, Love is now on the rebound, staying clear from drugs and booze and rebuilding her career. Recently, she launched her autobiography, 'Dirty Blonde: Diaries of Courtney Love' and she is working for quite some time now on her latest album. She also did a lot of work to repair her bad image, which actually means that she posed for many magazines.
Out of all of them, the most remarkable photo shoot was the one for 'Pop', even if she probably should have thought better before doing it. Despite all the airbrushing and retouching, the mag still couldn't present us with a Courtney that was worth seeing naked. Now, another prestigious magazine is trying to convince us that Courtney Love is an entirely different person than we know she is.
In the first photo is the cover of Italian 'Vogue' and I imagine everyone can see that the woman present there is not Love. I tried really hard to look at it and go beyond the beautiful image that Photoshop created and still, I couldn't see her. To see what I'm talking about, the second pic is a couple of days old and it shows Courtney at some party, on the red carpet. Do you see any resemblance?!? Plus, the cover really gives me the impression that the photographer and the artists who worked on it (I can't refer to them by any other name) wanted to go for an Angelina Jolie look. If that's the case, they should have asked Angie herself to do it...
