Author Neil Gaiman and the development team at The Odd Gentleman announce that they are collaborating on a video game called Wayward Manor, which is set to arrive on the PC and tablet during the fall.

The player will take on the role of a ghost who was killed in the 1880s and now simply wants to be left alone to haunt his residence.

Gaiman says that inspiration for the game is drawn from movies like Arsenic and Old Lace as well as The Man Who Came To Dinner.

So far, the author has worked in mediums like short fiction, novels, comic books, graphic novels, audio theatre and films.

His best-known works include Stardust, American Gods, Coraline and The Graveyard Book.

He states that Wayward Manor is “light hearted, its goofy, it’s nice to flip points of view.”

Gaiman also tried to break into the video game space in the 1990s.
