Wayne Rooney was robbed. Yes, you may believe it. Even if he is considered a true football idol at the early age of 21, the Manchester United striker has been robbed of every souvenir he managed to acquire in his professional football years. And, actually, it wasn't his house that was broken, but his parents'.
The incident took place during the last weekend. His mom and dad were out on a holiday, so the burglars had plenty of time turning the place upside down
for jewelry and souvenirs. Rooney's brothers, Graham and John, were out and they couldn't do anything about it. When they came home late at night, they found the place in a mess. When going into Wayne's room, they discovered that no trophy or souvenir of his were in place.
As soon as he found out, the Man U striker was just devastated. "They could have taken money or anything else, but not the souvenirs that I cared so much for. I had tie-shirts from lots of champions and some really important things that I cared for. They stole my mother jewelry too, but they're insured anyways. I am really pissed off at this", said Wayne Rooney on Monday.
His parents' residence is in Liverpool, so we might have already found the reason why his house was broken. His collection of tie-shirts, distinctions and trophies was brought there so it could be carefully guarder by his father. Still, what's pretty impressing is the media trying to do anything in their power to find the burglars.
And this is how you can see how much the English media & fans care about Wayne Rooney. "The Sun" newspaper launched a campaign starting Monday, where they offer 1500 euros for any information that would lead to the burglars. The police are very confident that they will be caught, since all that was stolen from the Rooney residence will have to be sold for money - on the internet or the black market.
