Although one might say that non-rechargeable batteries are somewhat of a waste of money, the truth of the matter is that there are quite a few products out there capable of providing them with a new lease on life, such as the brand-new Watts Clever Battery Charger.

The device from Watts Clever has been designed specifically to recharge both usual rechargeable batteries ( Ni-CD, Ni-MH, and RAM), but also those power packs not traditionally capable of being recharged.

Of course, unlike rechargeable batteries, that can be recharged quite a lot of times, the alkaline ones will only support a limited number of recharges (around 20 or so), depending specifically on the type of battery we're talking about and the power of power that's left within them.

The Watts Clever Battery Charger works with both AA and AAA batteries and is extremely easy to use, since one will simply have to connect the power supply the charger, the unit automatically sensing the type of battery that's connected to it and its level of charge and adjusting its functionality accordingly.

Moreover, charging a pair of batteries shouldn't really last that long, the estimated time being set at around 4 hours or so, depending strictly on the type of battery we're talking about.

Moving on to the tech specs area, we'll have to mention that this thing supports an input voltage of AC 100-240 50/60Hz 6w and DC 1.7V output voltage, the maximum output voltage being set at 350 mA (x4).

Similar to most other chargers out there, the Watts Clever device also sports a built-in heat sensor, that detects battery overheating and automatically shuts down the respective charging circuit, as well as as a reversed polarity auto-detection system and some sort of “battery presence” system, that cuts power down whenever the battery is not present.

Pricing for the Watts Clever Battery Charger has been set at around 46 US dollars, which is actually quite OK, especially if this thing will really work as advertised.
