There are certain issues that might interfere with the operation and lifespan of earphones, such as perspiration, so Pioneer decided to make some earbuds with resistance to humidity and dust.
When it comes to audio solutions, one could say that this particular market segment has not been ignored in the slightest recently.
For instance,
BlueAnt unveiled a headset that it has been working on since early January (2011), while
IOGEAR came up with an USB tube-shaped audio adapter.
Now, Pioneer Electronics is taking its own turn at servicing the audio segment, only its own earphones are more specialized.
This isn't because of their striking color options, or because of the other specifications, but due to the way they are built.
More specifically, Pioneer made it so that they could withstand water and dust (IPX5 and IPX7 compliance dictates this much), even as comfort is assured by the interchangeable ear tips.
Deep bass performance is one of the assets that boost sound quality over that of other earphones, while the 3.0-inch cord makes it easy to connect to any electronic with a 3.5-inch audio jack (the earphones have L-shaped 3.5mm plugs).
“We’ve designed the new SE-CL331 headphones to be extremely versatile for use with many types of physical activity, providing not only comfort and durability, but the excellent sound quality consumers expect from a Pioneer product,” said Chris Walker, director AV marketing and product planning for the home entertainment division of Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.
The company offers the SE-CL331, as the product is called, in four colors, those being yellow, blue, white and pink. What's more, a carrying pouch is part of the product bundle.
Those who would like to come into the possession of the Pioneer SE-CL331 (it uses 9mm drivers) will, unfortunately, have to wait until the month of July (2011). The price is $59.
