After learning the ways and works of the Perfect8 loudspeakers and especially after smiling with a somehow dumb face in front of their $277,000 price tag, I thought I was prepared for anything, but then I saw the first picture of the new Waterfall glass floorstanders.
Indeed things have surprised me quite a lot, but in the opposite way: the Waterfall loudspeakers' prices were "insanely" lower! Well, low as in the tangible $5,500 range per one pair...otherwise a very decent price for audiophile gear.

Now, back to the these new speakers, again, their cabinet is made entirely form special, non-resonant, thick glass. It looks eerie and astonishing at the same time, with a definitely fascinating look in a dark, smartly-illuminated room. The drivers are front-loaded in the massive baffle yet they look like floating, especially as the wiring for the transducers has been designed to look more like a piece of artsy decoration rather than proper cabling.

Still there is no data on how these beauties sound like and if they are any good; so far, the web community looks rather suspicious about the performance of these un-braced speakers, and there are even comments that predict a crappy sound. Now, without ever looking to annoy or irritate anyone, I guess that making so much fuss for such speakers and asking a hefty sum of money for them could never compensate for a crappy sound, could it? Besides, there's no point in creating expensive speakers that sound bad...

The Victoria EVO floorstanders run on a 3-way complement comprising an 8" passive woofer in a down-firing position, dual 6" midrange drivers and a tweeter. The older Victoria version, the TWN, had a 45-20,000Hz range in 90dB sensitivity and blasted 200W from its Triangle and Atohm drivers; we're expecting further info on the new Victoria and their siblings, the Iguasçu EVO (pretty much the same thing, but dropping one of the midrange drivers and selling for $3,900).

I also wonder what will break these speakers: opera or heavy metal?
