Apple’s Reuse and Recycling program allows users with water-damaged iPhones to still get some money in return for their old handsets, for the company’s trade-in program.

Apple recently kicked off a trade-in program which allows iPhone owners to get some cash for their old handset, cash which can then be used towards the purchase of a new iPhone.

Up until now, the company refused to serve customers coming in with a water-damaged iPhone. The handsets have a sensor inside which turns orange and tells technicians that the phone has been exposed to high levels of humidity.

Apple has instated a new policy according to which, if the phone is slightly water-damaged but still works properly, they’ll take it off your hands and give you the cash you hoped for. As long as you buy a new iPhone, that is.
