Tonight, Friday, June 27, 2014, the fourth “Transformers” film comes out: “Age of Extinction” is a reboot of the franchise, with Michael Bay still at the helm but the entire cast replaced with new faces. There’s really no better way to prepare for this film than by revisiting the original trilogy.

However, I have the condensed version for you because the three very brave guys over at RedLetterMedia just did the most amazing (and insane) experiment possible by watching all 3 “Transformers” movies simultaneously.

Their findings, documented in the video embedded below, will probably not surprise those fans of director Michael Bay who are not oblivious to his shortcomings, particularly his tendency of recycling scenes from older movies and reusing them ad nauseam.

Well, as this video will prove, the first two “Transformers” installments are practically just one movie said slightly differently the second time around. The timing of scenes and characters and even some plot developments are too similar, revealing that, no matter how much he claims the contrary, Bay is a lazy filmmaker.

Similarities extend to the third film as well, which also happens to be the longest. It’s almost as if Bay has a “recipe” for making action movies from which he never wants to stray, from the chronology of onscreen events to the sequence of action and dialogue scenes (or scenes with female hotties in very revealing postures).

Even funnier than how lazy Bay is is the reaction of these 3 guys to what they’re seeing on the 3 screens before them. Towards the end, they’re so dizzy and confused they can’t even tell who the human villain is.

Check it out, I can promise you you won’t be sorry.
