14 DAY TRIAL // WatchGuard Technologies has launched WatchGuard Dimension, a network security visibility solution that’s integrated into the company’s Unified Threat Management (UTM) platform.
WatchGuard Dimension doesn’t require any installations and it can be used with both public and private clouds. It provides a suite of reporting and visibility tools designed to speed the ability of IT professionals to set security policies.
The visibility and reporting options menu in Dimension includes an executive dashboard that shows top trends, top clients and correlated views of top users and applications; and a summary reporting function that allows users to choose from over 70 comprehensive reports.
The menu also includes hierarchical TreeMap called FireWatch, which filters traffic in search of the most critical information on active users and connections; and a global threat map that’s designed to provide data critical for identifying cyberattacks and fine-tuning defenses against them.
A recent survey by WatchGuard and Slashdot has found that 51% of security professionals have zero or limited visibility into which applications consume bandwidth. The same percentage of respondents admitted not being able to identify the geographical origin of a threat.
40% of those who took part in the survey said that it would take them hours or even days to compile a performance report for 48 hours of traffic.
“Around the world, network security pros tell us they are drowning in logs of data and find it time consuming – or nearly impossible – to identify key issues on their networks and make proper policy decisions,” said Dave R. Taylor, vice president of corporate and product strategy at WatchGuard Technologies.
“In a recent report from the SANS Institute, only 10 percent of respondents felt confident in their organizations ability to analyze large data sets for security trends, even though 77 percent are collecting logs and monitoring data from systems and security devices,” he added.
“WatchGuard Dimension solves this challenge by instantly turning raw network data into actionable security intelligence in the big data visualization style today’s users have come to expect.”
WatchGuard Dimension is available with the launch of the 11.8 version of the WatchGuard UTM platform.
