Microsoft has presented the Surface 2 and the Surface Pro 2 tablets last week during an event in New York, but sales won’t begin sooner than October 22, four days after the launch of Windows 8.1.

Since the event wasn’t streamed online and only a few journalists were invited to attend the press conference, the company has now published a short video to show the key moments of the presentation.

Just as expected, the clip shows Panos Panay, head of the Surface team at Microsoft, talking about the new tablets and explaining that both are lighter, thinner, and significantly upgraded as compared to their predecessors.

Both the Surface 2 and the Surface Pro 2 can be preordered right now, with pricing starting at $449 (€350) for the entry-level model running Windows RT 8.1.
