Watch the Hajj in Mecca Live on YouTube
YouTube is livestreaming the entire pilgrimage this year as well
One of the biggest times of the year for Muslims is here, the Hajj ritual is about to start. Millions of people will descend on Mecca, in Saudi Arabia, for the annual pilgrimage. Muslims are required to make the pilgrimage at least once in their life, if they can afford it and if they are able to.But for the millions that will not be there, YouTube will be live streaming the entire event in partnership with Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Culture and Information.
"Tomorrow marks the start of the observance of Eid El Adha, celebrated by the world’s 1.5 billion Muslims. As part of this holiday, nearly 2.5 million Muslims will participate in the world’s largest pilgrimage to perform the ritual of Hajj," Google explained.
This is not the first time YouTube has shown live footage from the event in Mecca, a stream was made available last year as well.
