Windows XP came to be in 2001 and quickly became a very successful operating system, as it completely changed the way we worked on our computers and provided us with outstanding performance and reliability which at that time impressed everyone.

The first commercial released by Microsoft for Windows XP featured Madonna's song “Ray Of Light” and promoted features that nowadays seem outdated, such as Wi-Fi support, Windows Movie Maker and Live Messenger.

It was the commercial that started it all, as the video posted on YouTube says, and clearly emphasized that Microsoft’s new operating system was capable of providing a totally new experience as compared to its predecessors which more or less failed to impress.

Fast forward 13 years later, Windows XP continues to be a very popular operating system that today has a market share of 28 percent. The problem is that Microsoft will soon stop providing support and security patches for XP, so all those still running it have no other option than to upgrade as soon as possible.

Given that support for Windows XP is just around the corner, take this commercial as a tribute to the operating system that helped us get the job done easily for nearly 13 years, so watch it and make sure you post your thoughts on XP in the comment box after the jump.
