Planting trees in belly buttons might help save the planet, crazy video argues

I'm all for environmental protection and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, but I have to admit that, until watching this video, I would have probably run screaming were somebody to come to me and suggest that I plant a tree in my belly button.

Then again, the folks in the footage below make the entire idea of having one's belly button serve as a home for a tree no longer sound as repulsive as it would otherwise do. Mind you, I would still say not to such a proposal, but at least I would not make a run for it.

The video made it online a couple of days ago, when it was posted on YouTube by Rhett and Link. It has already scored over 640,000 hits, so I suppose it is safe to assume that people have taken quite a liking to it.

The two folks featured in the video argue that, by planting a tree in one's belly button, folks can make amends for the greenhouse gas emissions that they are responsible for. What's more, they could even go around selling miniature coal-fired power plants without having to worry about how this would affect the environment.

The idea to turn belly buttons into portable gardens is wacky to say the least, but, from where I stand, this video does help raise awareness about the need to limit greenhouse gas emissions. Here's hoping you will enjoy it as much as I did, and feel free to share your thoughts on it in the comments section.
