If you're one of those people who love and adore garlic but who absolutely dread having to peel it before finally using it to flavor food, here's a super cool life hack that is sure to save you some time in the kitchen.

As it turns out, the fastest way to peel garlic is to shove the bulb in a jar, put the lid on and then give it a good shake. All the rattling will essentially force the garlic into peeling itself.

To get the best results, you should keep the shaking the jar at a steady rhythm for about 30 seconds. Oh, and be sure to really put your heart and your biceps into it if you want to do a good job separating the cloves and peeling them.

True, you'll still have to sift through the bulb's remains and pick and choose the parts you want to keep and those you think belong in the trash can, but odds are you'll be done with this small complication in no time.

Besides, there's no denying that peeling garlic by shaking it around in a carefully secured jar will spare you the pain and the horror of having garlicky fingers for hours after you're done cooking your favorite dish.
