Check out this inspirational video and reflect on it

Some time ago, there was a Sprite commercial going around on TV with the slogan “You are unique, just like everybody else,” which made me think a little about the underlying depth of the sentence.

There are billions and billions of people on Earth, yet no two individuals are alike. We see the world differently, we experience it differently and we react to it in our own way.

However, in each of us exists an underlying fear of being stripped of our uniqueness, so we relentlessly try to capture moments that mean something and that have the potential to be special.

In a video put together by the Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, an interesting world with a resonance of its own gets detailed. It’s called vemödalen and it stands for “the frustration of photographic something amazing when thousands of identical photos already exist.”

The video is made up of a selection of different photographs taken by different people which, at first sight, might look very similar.

But the goal is to highlight that, because everybody today has a camera at their disposal, it’s inevitable that the “same” image will be captured by different individuals.

The clip actually aims to be an inspirational infiltration into the human psyche, pushing you not to give up on your creative urges for fear of being a copycat.

The film asserts that just because some things seem similar, their uniqueness is not annulled. Actually, similarities such as these bring us together as a creative species. Check out the video below.
